Mealworms are fun to observe. Meal worms grow quickly.

Measuring mealworms is a way to observe their growth. It's tricky to measure a mealworm that doesn't go in a straight line.

In November and December 2nd graders study Meal Worms in science.   From the samples of student work below you can see that many other disciplines are integrated into science.
Here are samples of quality student work showing the 4 stages of life of a Meal Worm.  Children learn the term "metamorphosis" from Greek meaning transform or change.
