Real Life Heroes: Using Character Traits Found in Children’s Literature to Identify Heroism

This unit begins with the activities on this website. After you have completed the first two, you will select a biography of an American who played or plays an influential role in the history of the United States. Your task will then be to read the biography. After reading the biography, you will complete the activity in step four in the Biography section. You will then continue to learn more about your person's life, recording information and citing resources as you progress. A goal of the research is to come to the realization about  what kind of a person your subject was/is. This judgment will be based on what you learn while working on the activities on this website (1 to 5). The activities may be worked on either in school or at home but must be completed.
