2006 Clow Storytelling Festival

Sue Black
Do you know the story of Frog and Locust? Clow students now do! Mrs. Black told us Pickin' Peas and I Love to Eat. She told us a frog story to show How All Things are Connected and about the Magic Pot that doubles everything that goes into it.

Sue Black, May 23 Sue Black Mrs. Brunsting tells how she had to work as a little girl.

We learned about The Man Who Bought a Dream and Blue Coyote. Our kindergartners learned all about different dinosaurs as they listened to and participated in the Dinosaur's Dance. Mrs. Black told the story of Fine Feathers, Gluskabe & Grandmother Woodchuck and shared her own personal school story of Mrs. Cross.

Sue Black and Miss Pfaff Miss Pfaff tells how she got stung by a bee. Mr. Sovern remembers how he got in trouble.
Not only did Sue Black tell stories to Clow students but she also taught them how to develop their own stories. She gave our students the challenge of telling their own stories by asking and answering the W questions. Teachers volunteered to model the experience and told their own personal stories to their students.

Students ask each other the W questions as Mrs. Black looks on. Students answer the W questions and tell their own story.

Students telling their own stories as Miss Gibson listens. Listening to a personal story is interesting.
