The 2003-2004 Clow Student Storytellers

Clow's 2nd Annual Storytelling Festival began with the always dynamic and entertaining Linda Gorham. Right from the start, she had the students involved in telling the stories she loves. Now they are some of our favorites too!

Everyone loves the story of Wally Wiggle and Willy Waggle!

During lunch, Ms. Gorham answered questions and gave storytelling tips to our student tellers.

Day two was shared between Jim Pfitzer and Diane Ladley.

Jim told stories that highlighted his mandolin and drum. Students enjoyed participating with song and rhythm.

Diane Ladley, known for telling ghost stories, shared a ghost story ballad that she had written about a Naperville ghost.

Sadarri, Amber & Misty told stories that brought our imaginations to life! They taught us all how tell the Itsy Bitsy Spider in sign language.

Amber used a puppet to tell the story of Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock. Sadarri told all of the animal parts, from the elephant to the snake.

Misty invited the fourth and fifth grade student storytellers to help her tell the story of the Purple People Eaters.

First, second and third graders helped out too!

Lunch time brought a lot of questions for our visiting storytellers from our student storytellers. This time offered an opportunity to learn from the pros!

Mike Anderson finished up the week for us in a BIG way! He told many original stories that he had written about growing up in Illinois. Everyone really liked it when he told us all about how he learned to play the jaw harp, a gift from his grandfather.  We especially liked the stories that he told about the adventures he had playing with his friend Denny. Mr. Anderson brought his dulcimer with him as well as his nose flute!

The Clow Second Annual Storytelling Festival was a HUGE success!
