"Proud to be An American"
Presented by the Clow Fifth Graders

April 29, 2004: Clow School fifth graders performed for an all-school assembly honoring some very special people, 1st Lieutenant Bob Scavelli and the 3rd Squadron of the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Lieutenant Scavelli and other members of his medical unit have been corresponding with students and staff since January. In December and February, holiday care packages were sent to the Regiment to let the soldiers know that they were not forgotten and how proud we all are of their work. In January, we received an email "thank you" from Lieutenant Scavelli that began a friendship and correspondence that continues regularly via email and snail mail. The soldiers have taught us all a great deal this year about courage, faith, and doing what is right. We're proud of each and every one of them! Here are some video clips and pictures of this very special program that generated a standing ovation at the evening performance. Not only was this ovation for our student performers but also for the soldiers defending freedom in Iraq.
