Owl in the Office By: Ben M. Baglio
5th grader Brittany says:

"Mandy cupped her hands together and lifted something very carefully from the ground. She held what looked like a bundle of bedraggled feathers." What do you think it is? Is it a... never mind. You should read the book to find out!
That statement is definitely a thumbs up! Mandy is a character that can't resist an animal in need. will she help that animal in the blanket, or will she have to turn her back on it? Read the book to find out! I loved it when the book leaves you speechless at the end of each chapter.

This book's genre is animal because it only really talks about animals. Mandy wanted to save the animals she found but who knows what happens.

One weakness of the book is a little bit of vocab. So you might need a dictionary. a strength of the book is the characters never give up. Another weakness is that sometimes it doesn't give you the answers you wanted. Another strength is the characters try their best to accomplish their mission.

I would recommend this book because its a really great book. It makes me want to read more. Also leaves you speechless at the end.

Terrier in the Tinsel By: Ben M. Baglio
5th grader Brittany says:

What would you do if you saw a poor helpless animal out all alone in the cold? I would right away give this book a thumbs up!!! Mandy parent's are veterinarians, and they help animals in need. A good part in the book is when Mandy finds the little Jack Russell in the parking lot!!!

This book would MOSTLY be a an animal book because it talks about animals. Mandy wanted to catch that little dog because she loves animals, and I would say this book could be a realistic fiction book.

A strength about/in the book would be that the characters in the book never give up. They always try there best to complete their mission. A weakness in the story would be that they can't catch the dog. They do a lot of stuff at the same time, so it would be hard to do just 1 thing.

I would recommend this book to others because it is very passionate. I hope you read this book because its a cute book.

Kittens in the Kitchen By: Ben M. Baglio
5th grader Brittany says:

Kittens in the Kitchen is a very touching book. This book would definitely be a thumbs up to me!!! Mandy loves animals and she can't resist leaving someone out in the cold. She tries to give the kitten a home but will they let her, or will she have to leave the kitten behind? you'll have to read the book to find out!

This book would be a animal book because the series is Animal Ark. Mandy wanted to give the poor little kitten a home but they wouldn't let her, will she have to give up the kitten or will she save the kitten? Read the book to find out!!!

One strength of the book is that characters sometimes never give up! They would try the best they can to do something and not give up. A weakness is that you might need a dictionary for some words that might be a bit difficult for smaller kids. Like the book has a bit of long words that you would not understand. Another strength is that characters in the book try the best they can to help others. And if they sometimes think its to late, they do stuff twice as much. Also another weakness of the book is sometimes during the book it might be a little sad and you would get really into it and you would feel like you were there. Like for example, when she sees the kitten, it makes you feel like your the one who sees the kitten.

I would recommend this book to others if you like to feel like your there and want to get into a book, But even if you don't you should still try to read this book. One reason it interested me is because I got really into it and I like those kind of books. Another reason I like this book is because  its a book where you don't want to stop reading the book.

Once students become pretty good readers, chapter books are for them. This is where your imagination really kicks in and a well written story brings fantasy to life.

Clow Kids rave about these REALLY GOOD chapter books!
