Michael Berenstain

A big "Thank You!" goes to Jill Brooks and Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville. On February 15th Clow first and second graders enjoyed a FANTASTIC visit from Michael Berenstain, son of the famous Jan & Stan Berenstain. We learned that he is a superb artist and illustrator in his own right with many books to his credit. It was amazing to watch him draw as he talked about the art in the Berenstain Bear books.
Michael Berenstain
Mr. Berenstain introduced everyone to his love for the famous Berenstain Bears. He showed us how he draws a wild bear first and then he drew Papa Berenstain Bear. It was truly amazing to watch Papa Bear come to life.

Brother bear has a very expressive face.Mr. Berenstain demonstrated how he draws bear faces showing expression. He made brother bear's face say different things with the simple addition of a line or curve. He even showed us how to draw our own Berenstain Bear.

A Berenstain Bear! A Berenstain Bear! A Berenstain Bear! A Berenstain Bear! A Berenstain Bear!

Some of us purchased Berenstain Bear books and Mr. Berenstain autographed them. Ms. Kaufman even got an autograph.
