Sue Black Tells Stories to Clow 1st and 2nd Graders

Sue Black is Clow's Storyteller in Residence. She often shares some of her best stories with our students. In November, she told stories about Native Americans in honor of Native American Month. Mrs. Black also told the first graders a Thanksgiving story. We always enjoy her visits to Clow. Thank You Mrs. Black!

Stories are wonderful things. Mrs. Sue Black tells the Tligkit story of the Raven Who Stole the Sun. Traditional Tlingkit bentwood boxes hold the sun, the moon, and the stars.  Raven must set the sun, the moon, and the stars free and light the world again.

Imagine the story in your mind's eye. Mrs. Black paints a picture with her words. Students actually see raven set the stars free.

Sue Black uses gestures to add meaning to her stories.

Clow students know how to participate in a good story.
