RESEARCH PAPER EVALUATION

I. COVER PAGE (5 pts)
    A. Center historical figure's name, due date, your name
    B. Clear plastic cover

II. OUTLINE (20 pts)
    A. Correct format used   
    B. Capitalization and punctuation
    C. Neatness; typed

III. INTRODUCTION (10 pts)
     A. Interesting lead
     B. Main ideas introduced

IV. RESEARCH PAPER (45 pts)
      A. 3-4 pages, typed/black (average letter size), double-spaced
      B. Content shows evidence of research and higher level thinking
      C. Proper paragraphing with good transitions
      D. Neatness; typed; proper margins
      E. Capitalization, punctuation, grammar, spelling

V. CONCLUSION (10 pts)
     A. Expresses personal opinion
          1. Person's greatest accomplishment, including any character traits that
              helped this occur
          2. Person's worst failure or greatest disappointment
     B. "Grade" based on person's contribution to our country and the character
          trait that stands out as most important

VI. WORKS CITED PAGE/BIBLIOGRAPHY (10 pts)
      A. At least four varied sources used
      B. Correct format; correct capitalization/punctuation
      C. Alphabetical order
      D. Neatness; typed
