Weather Disaster Expository Speech

Formulate a speech that includes all five main topics of study as requested. Below is a list of the parts and attributes that should be included in your speech.

Content
explains, interprets, or describes - does not present personal reactions or feelings
presented in third person
Introduction
attention - getting opener
clearly presents the main idea and supporting points
Body of Speech
uses third person
expands upon the supporting ideas with details, reasons, or examples
Conclusion
summarizes or reviews the main points
asks for acceptance of the idea or belief proposed
refers back to the opening statement
Organization
clear and logical flow of ideas
ideas stick to the point
uses transition words to relate the parts to each other
Body Language
eye contact with audience
formal posture with no excessive movement
natural expressions and gestures
voice clear with appropriate volume
phrasing well paced
Visual Aides
used to support main ideas
used at appropriate times during the speech
clear and easily visible from a distance
