Reading Incentive

Reported by on 2/5/17

What better way to spend a chilly, winter day than reading?

To celebrate our love of reading, the LMC is sponsoring a six-week reading program (January 16th- February 24th) called “Imagine a Reading Wonderland”. Each week students will receive a reading log to record their total weekly reading minutes. Students will fill out the log throughout the week and return it to their class envelope by the following Monday. LMC staff will be collecting these sheets at the start of each week, with the final slips turned in on Monday, February 27th. The bulletin board in the LMC will be fun to watch, with pieces of the snowman being built as each class progresses toward their reading goal. Want to earn some extra freebies? These reading minutes may also be counted on the log sent home to earn a free admission ticket to Six Flags Theme Park AND a free admission ticket to the Kane County Cougars baseball game! At the baseball game, students will receive a drawstring bag and hot dog & drink, as well as a Golden Ticket which provides complimentary admission for all June-September home games! ***The Six Flags/Kane County Cougars form shouldn’t be turned in until it is complete with the six hours of reading, with the final deadline being February 27th.
