Updated Arrival/Dismissal Info 1/25/21

Reported by nicole_fader@ipsd.org on 1/25/21

Please review with your child(ren) how he/she will be going home each day. The more consistent you can make this for your child, the better. Please see below for information related to arrival/dismissal.

CAR RIDERS- Door 9 (near the main parking lot). Car Rider Arrival Information - Students should be dropped off using the main parking lot car line. Follow cones in the carline and staff supervisors will direct students to exit the vehicle, allowing ample time for social distancing between car drop offs. Parents should hold students in the vehicle until they are directed to exit. Students will walk through the multi-purpose room and staff will guide/assist students with navigating through the building to their classroom. f you are picking your child up via the carline, we ask that you hang a sign in your passenger side window with your child’s last name in bold print, along with the first name(s) of your child(ren). This can be the same or a similar sign to what you have used for materials pick-up.

WALKERS: Arrival Information (UPDATED procedures from original communication) - Students should walk to Door 3 or Door 4 (back doors by playground), without congregating, at the assigned door. Please choose a consistent entrance for your students. Staff will be available to direct students into the building, one at a time, to stagger traffic in our hallways. Staff will assist students with finding their classroom and teacher.

WALKERS: Dismissal Information (UPDATED procedures from original communication) - Students will be escorted to their exit door, by classroom teachers. Students in grades 3-5 will be dismissed from Door 4 (back door closest to the playground) and then students in grades K-2 will be dismissed from Door 3. This will allow for staggered dismissal and ample social distancing. Students and parents should avoid gathering at these locations as students are dismissed. Please talk with your student(s) about your dismissal plan (walk to our car, wait for me there, etc.) so that your child knows what to do at dismissal.

BUS RIDERS/DAYCARE: Arrival Information - Students will be dropped off by bus using the front circle drive and will be directed by staff to enter the building through Door 1 or 2. Staff members will be available to assist students with navigating to their classroom/teacher. Bus/Day Care Dismissal Information - Students will be called via the intercom to the front door and will be directed/assisted to the bus.

Cars should not park in the circle drive during drop off or pick up times. Crossing guards are available in several locations to assist students in their safe arrival and departure from school. Please respect the guidance and directions given from the crossing guards as they work to safely assist our students each day.
