Young Author Contest is now open!

Reported by nicole_fader@ipsd.org on 1/27/19

This year is the 45th Annual Young Author’s Conference, a day-long event designed as a celebration to honor exceptional writing by students in grades K through 8.The conference provides an opportunity for these young writers to meet published authors and to hear how the authors themselves create the characters and stories that have become their books. This year’s event is being held on May 18, 2019 in Normal.

So how do you get into the competition? Simple! Every book or manuscript that is submitted to the PawPrints Publishing Center throughout the year until March 1st is a contender. Stories can be fiction or nonfiction, even poetry is accepted. Volunteers will then read every transcript and put the top 25 into a blind pool that is then given to another set of volunteers that read through those manuscripts and select the manuscript to represent Clow at this fantastic event. Have a book at home that you want to submit? Perfect! Drop it by the LMC or share it from your drive and Mrs. Fader will forward it to the Publishing Center for inclusion. We cannot wait to see your creativity!
